The Seven Dreams Education Foundation helps make the educational dreams of our community a reality in the Robbinsdale Area Schools.

The Seven Dreams Education Foundation (SDEF) is dedicated to helping the students of Robbinsdale Area Schools (RAS) succeed by funding innovative education initiatives that enhance individual skills and experiences.

The Seven Dreams Education Foundation is an independent, non-profit 501(c)(3) education foundation founded by community members, parents and education professionals of Robbinsdale Area Schools.  Since SDEF’s inception in 2003, the Foundation has raised over $1,400,000 in donations and funded 247 grants to support student success and maximize individual academic potential. Over $48,000 has been raised for our Instruments 4 Kids campaign and 392 instruments have been collected to loan to students with limited resources.

There are two key ways that the Seven Dreams Education Foundation gives money to the Robbinsdale Area Schools (RAS) to support learning:

Hands-On Learning Grants

Every spring we award small grants (up to $2,500 each) to RAS staff who apply for a Hands-On Learning Grant. The funding for these grants comes primarily from the Staff Charitable Giving Campaign in the fall. Our generous staff make a donation to Seven Dreams from their paychecks throughout the year, or through a one-time donation. Their generosity comes full circle since all of this money is used to fund staff grants for projects in their schools.

District-Wide Initiatives

We also fund one large district-wide initiative through the proceeds at the Bird Bash gala event each March. For more information, go to our district-wide initiatives page.
